About Me
Hello! I'm Justin, I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan.
I graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts, where I found my passion for
theatre and lighting.
I started my career as a freelancer, working as a lighting designer, associate designer, pragrammer, chief electrician or technician.
Then, I went to Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to pursue my MA degree, focusing on lighting design and technology for musicals.
With comprehensive training in both creativity and technical expertise, along with professional
industy experience, I am now a passionate and creative lighting designer.
I am experienced and very much enjoy working with diverse teams.

嗨! 我是品方，出生並成長在台北
我畢業於國立臺北藝術大學，在那我發現了對於劇場和燈光的熱忱
大學畢業前我就開始以自由接案者的身分工作，做為燈光設計、設計助理、Programmer、
燈光技術統籌或是技術人員
之後，我前往英國皇家威爾斯音樂與戲劇學院攻讀碩士學位，並於其間專注於音樂劇燈光設計及技術工作
經過這些創意思想和技術層面的全面訓練，以及在專業環境中累積的經驗
現在的我是一個富有熱情並充滿創意的燈光設計師
我有著與各種不同團隊合作的經驗，並總是樂在其中，期待下次與你合作！

Lighting Design
If all the world's a stage— I want better lighting.

The Stage is not Visble Without Lights
But what we do is far more than simply lighting it up,
I want my lighting to be beautiful, and simultaneously, sensible.
It's All About Making Desicions
The bolder desicions you make, the more unique your design becomes.
I like making bold desicions, but to in some sense prevent my design from spiralling out of the world,
I would also like to incorporate logic into it, ensuring every light turned on serves a purpose.
That's why I always start my design by breaking down the eras, locations, seasons, times, etc.
in the scripts, thus analyze the proper angles, colours or texture of lights, this also helps me to be more decisive.
Then, finally I can build intriguing visuals through extensive research and my distinct sense of mind.
Of course, all the above is based on the case of creating realistic spaces, if we are building something non-realistic, then I will be happily spiralling out of the world with you:)
沒有光就看不到舞台
但燈光設計做的遠遠不只是把它照亮
我希望我的燈光是漂亮的，但同時也必須合乎情理
做設計其實就是一直在做決定
你做的決定越是大膽，結果就會越獨特
我喜歡做大膽的決定，但為了某種程度上的防止我的設計飛到外太空，
我也喜歡套用邏輯在裡面，確保每顆燈被打開都有它的理由
所以在開始設計一齣戲以前，我會先拆解劇本中的時代、地點、季節或時間等等，
藉此分析出最適當的燈光角度、顏色和質感，這也讓我在做決定時能夠更加果斷
然後我就可以運用大量的research和我獨特的思維邏輯來創造有趣的燈光畫面了
當然，以上都是建立在創造寫實空間的前提下，如果我們要做的是非寫實的酷東西，
我會非常樂意和你一起飛到外太空:)
